GENERAL INFORMATION:

LINK-700 is an effective blend of materials which act as a buttering agent and compatibility agent to improve the stability of liquid fertilizers mixed with pesticides and/or micronutrients. LINK-700 is used when a simultaneous application of liquid fertilizer and liquid or dry pesticide is desired. LINK-700 is also recommended when two different pesticides are to be applied in a single source of liquid fertilizer of water.

Since formulations differ and rates vary, check compatibility of various pesticide, micronutrient, and fertilize mixtures before mixing large quantities. To check, add 1/4 teaspoon LINK-700 lo 1 pint fertilizer or pesticide mixture in a jar and add the recommended amount or (other) pesticide. (1/4 teaspoon per pint is equivalent to 2 pints per 100 gallons].

Shake well after each addition to ensure adequate mixing, Let stand for 30 minutes. H separation, formation of sludge, or any other precipitates are observed, repeal testing using 3/8 teaspoon LINK-700 (Equivalent to 3 pints LINK-700 per 100 gallons). If the compatibility is still not sufficient, prepare a pre-mix of LINK-700 and the pesticide before adding lo the fertilizer.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE AS A BUFFERING AGENT:

For improving compatibility and stability of liquid fertilizer and pesticide mixture, use LINK-700 by one al the following procedures.

No. 1: Add recommended quantity of LINK-700 to the liquid fertilizer or water in the tank and mix completely. Maintain agitation while adding the pesticide. Mix thoroughly.

No. 2: Add required amount of LINK-700 and pesticide lo the tank containing the fertilizer and mix completely.

No. 3: Prepare a pre-mix of recommended rate of pesticide and LINK-700 and add to the tank containing the fertilizer and mix thoroughly.

Procedures No. 1 and 2 are appropriate for most situations while No, 3 is recommended where compatibility is still inadequate due to the application of 2 or 3 different pesticides in a single source o( liquid fertilizer. Procedure No. 3 is also suggested for mixtures with high phosphate grade liquid fertilizers, wet table powders, and flowable pesticide formulations.

RATES:

Liquid Nitrogen Fertilizers and pesticides') -3 pints per 100 gallons of fertilizer.

Liquid Fertilizer and Multiple Pesticides Combinations: 1/2 to 3 pints per 100 gallons of fertilizer.

Multiple Pesticide Combinations in Water: 1/2 to 3 pints per 100 gallons of water.

NOTE: Agitation in the tank during application is recommend for certain liquid fertilizer, pesticide combinations and water-pesticide combinations. II the spray lank has been allowed to stand, agitate before application. Too much agitation might result in loaming. This can be avoided by moderate or occasional agitation of the spray mixture or by using an anti-foamer.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE AS A BUFFERING AGENT:

Many pesticides, especially organophosphorus insecticides, lend to hydrolyze in alkaline solutions, resulting in less effective pest control. Decomposition normally occurs at a fat! rate above ph 7. Even for those compounds undergoing slow hydrolysis, adjustment or pH to an acid medium would have a beneficial effect in minimizing decomposition. Use 1/8 to 1-1/4 pints of LINK-700 per 100 gallons of water to lower the pH of alkaline pesticide spray solutions. See chart below (or recommendations. The optimum use rate of LINK-700 may vary under extremely alkaline conditions or il desired reduction of pH is slight LINK-700 should be added to the water in Ihe spray lank with good agitation prior to adding pesticide. Consult local extension agent or other authority for recommended spray tank pH.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, RESTRICTIONS, AND PRECAUTIONS ON THE PESTICIDE LABEL.

Instructions for use of chart:

  1. Test the pH of the water to be used in your tank mix by using the pH test kit.

  2. Determine the desired pH for (he pesticide to be tank mixed. Typically, spray tank mixtures are most effective at pH's between 6 and 7.

  3. Determine the approximate quantity of LINK-700 to be added to each 100 gallons or the tank mix by reading down on the chart from starting pH to the desired pH on the left side.

NOTE: When applying aerially, follow pesticide label directions including minimum water volume per acre. Do not substitute LINK-700 for water required by the pesticide label. Aquatic Application: Apply at the rate recommended as described by pesticide label.

CONTAINER DISPOSAL

Do not reuse empty container. Triple rinse, then offer for recycling or for disposal in a sanitary landfill, or by other means approved by Stale and local authorities.
